I believe that architecture is a communal experience that succeeds most when it is accessible to all. This idea is showcased in my most recent thesis exploration of an underutilized site on Milwaukee’s East Side lakefront. What used to be steep bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan are now natural zones of park, beach, and path built out along the water, yet these amenities are functionally cut off from local businesses and communities atop this topographical separation. My proposed “Point Park” serves as a visual and physical connection creating an accessible transition that’s experiential and effective year-round.

I have already bridged the gap between academic concept and real-world client work. The capstone project for my technical degree in architectural practices redesigned the Milwaukee Rowing Club’s boathouse with an expansion, transforming the space into an athletic and educational facility while retaining its existing rooftop public green space by cantilevering the expansion over the top. By polishing this design alongside comprehensive construction documentation that satisfied building codes, I earned a private commission with a development partner to ideate this concept at another site on the Milwaukee River. 

As I grow as a designer, I hope to shape how people experience their surroundings, connecting communities to their environments memorably. I am committed to this, and to contributing thoughtfully within a collaborative studio environment.
