Grandpa's Farmhouse

In the 1910's, my grandfather's house was one of the first houses built on what used to be rural farmland. After the industrialization of Milwaukee, neighborhoods filled in around the home, it was converted into a duplex, and purchased by my grandparents in the 1970's. Despite all of this change, the residence still possesses the charm of its farmhouse glory days.

For this assignment, we were to explore a web-based rendering program with an imagined space, however I chose to take it a step further and reimagine the farmhouse as it could be if converted back into a single-family house.

For the sake of the privacy of the upstairs tenant, only the first floor was measured and redesigned for this project, but the intention would be for the top half of the home to contain private living quarters of bedrooms and bathrooms.
